2013 LSSA/SAALA/SAALT Conference, Stellenbosch

The organising committee is happy to report that 130 papers will be read at the conference and that we have received 205 registrations thus far.

The venues’ room numbers and the chairs’ names have been added to the programme – the final version is available on the conference website (http://www0.sun.ac.za/conference2013). For those who have not registered yet: The late registration fee is R2 100 (R1 000 for students), but it is also possible to attend just one or two specific days for R500 per day. Please contact me, Alta van Rensburg, at conference@sun.ac.za or 021 808 2231 in this regard.

Then, a reminder that speakers at the conference have the opportunity to submit their full papers to be considered for publication in SPIL PLUS, a Department of Education-accredited open source journal published by Stellenbosch University’s Department of General Linguistics. The deadline for submission has been extended to 26 July 2013.

  • Software for corpus linguistics (Sally Hunt)
  • Language planning in higher education: Navigating the stress line between institutional and individual multilingualism (Leon de Stadler & Vic Webb)
